Too many pattern attempts - Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000

What can you do if your Samsung Galaxy Tab was prompt with an error message as follows:-

  " Too many pattern attempts"
  "To Unlock, Sign in with Google account"

If you still remember your gmail password, yes you can unlock the pattern lock. If not, you have to reset the device back to factory setting.

To reset,

1. switch off the device,
2. hold volume up together with power button for 10secs
3. a wipe menu will pop-up.
4. to select wipe, simply navigate via volume button and
5. to enter, press 'home'

Whole process will take about 30 minutes.

Everything was self explanatory thereafter.
